SALKANTAY TREK + LLACTAPATA 5 Days / 4 Nights

For hiking lovers who want to combine the mountains with a section of the original Inca trail and the Inca ruins of Llactapata, we have this option so that you do not miss any detail of the hike and enjoy the best options, for this adventure is the Salkantay Trek which is full of unique landscapes such as mountains, lagoons, glaciers, high Andean valleys, tropical valleys and of course at the end of the trip you visit Machu Picchu.

  ITINERARY

Day 1:

CUSCO – SORAYPAMPA – LAGUNA HUMANTAY – QUISWARNIYOC

Pick up from Cusco from 5:00 to 5:30 am from your hotel to take passengers to Mollepata and stop for breakfast, then an hour more by car to Soraypampa where the walk begins for 2 hours to the Humantay lagoon, once at the lake free time to visit the place, photograph and explore the place, then descend for 2 hours to the Quiswarniyoc camp to enjoy a nutritious lunch, after lunch nap and in the afternoon take a walk to the Salkantay viewpoint from where you can appreciate the sunset then back to the camp we will offer you tea, dinner and spend the night at the MOUNTAIN SKY HUT, exclusive camp.

Day 2:

QUISWARNIYOC – ABRA SALKANTAY – CHAWLLAY

I wake up at 5 in the morning with a coca tea and after breakfast we start the walk to the Salkantay pass for 3 hours and then go down for 2 hours to Wayracmachay for lunch and then 3 more hours to Chaullay to camp, then have tea and then dinner and rest under our Andean huts.

Day 3:

CHAULLAY - THE BEACH - HOT SPRINGS - SANTA TERESA

I wake up around 6:00 am with coca tea then breakfast to start the walk around 7:30 am from Chaullay to the beach for 5 hours, once there I have lunch then take a car to Santa Teresa for an hour to the camp, then you have the option to visit the Cocalmayo thermal baths in Santa Teresa after the thermal baths camping in an exclusive camp in Santa Teresa for tea and dinner.

Day 4:

SANTA TERESA – LUCMABAMBA – LLACTAPATA – HYDROELECTRIC – AGUAS CALIENTES

Early in the morning we have breakfast around 6:00 and then we take a car to Lucmabamba for about 45 minutes, then we go up an Inca trail to Llactapata for 3 hours to then visit the ruins of that place and enjoy a view of Machu Picchu and the mountains, then we go down for 2 hours to Hidroeléctrica for lunch and then we walk 3 hours to Aguas Calientes to get to the hotel, take a shower and get to know the town and have dinner around 7:00 pm in a restaurant in Aguas Calientes and prepare to visit Machu Picchu the next day.

Day 5:

AGUAS CALIENTES - MACHU PICCHU – CUSCO

We are always the first to arrive at Machu Picchu, you can choose to walk or take the bus depending on your physical condition after 4 days of trekking. By bus it is a 25 minute trip, but you have to buy a ticket in Aguas Calientes the night before. Walking takes one hour and 20 minutes, 20 minutes on the flat and one hour on the stairs. Either option is good, the idea is to arrive at Machu Picchu early, once there you will enter the archaeological park and have a guided service for a maximum of 3 hours. Afterwards you will go down to the town of Aguas Calientes and return to Cusco by train or car.

  • In the first camp, Quiswarniyoc, passengers sleep in SKY DOMES (glass igloos). We also have CABINS that have mattresses, pillows, and lighting
  • The last two camps are Andean huts where 4-season tents are installed, which are Kailas 08 and Pro – Aconcagua tents that have a capacity for 4 people, but are used for 2 people
  • The mattresses are made of 2-inch thick zebra foam and lined with leatherette
  • We provide pillows to each passenger

 

EXCLUSIVE CAMPSITES, all the places where passengers spend the night are exclusive and private places.

  • First camp: we have installed the SKY DOMES and MOUNTAIN SKY HUTS
  • We have real bathroom facilities in each camp
  • We have dining and kitchen facilities in each camp where we come to rest
  • The camps are for the exclusive use of our groups.

 

*DUFFLE BAG + 7 KILOS, each passenger has included 7 kilos of their luggage per person for the horses for which they will receive a duffle bag.

  • The passenger will be given a duffle bag to prepare their 7 kilos to travel on horseback, the duffle bags are usually given to them on the day of the briefing.
  • The seven kilos of the passenger will travel by horse and then by car and train until reaching Aguas Calientes, this means that the passenger walks alone with his small backpack during the entire Trek
  • Passengers have access to their luggage in each camp HOTEL IN AGUAS CALIENTES, all rooms have a private bathroom and hot shower.

  • You can reserve double, triple, matrimonial, according to affinity GROUP SIZE: With the new restrictive measures of the Peruvian government due to covid-19, the maximum group size on the route is 12 people with a guide and the maximum group size for Machu Picchu is 7 people per guide.
