  ITINERARY

Day 1:

CUSCO - ABRA MÁLAGA - SANTA MARIA:

BICYCLING AND RAFTING

We will leave the Imperial City of Cusco to head towards the Sacred Valley of the Incas. In Ollantaytambo we will make a stop of approximately 20 minutes so that you can have breakfast or buy some things you need for the trip. We will continue with the trip to the Abra Málaga sector (4,350 masl) (14,160 feet), the starting point of our bicycle tour (biking). After the informative talk by our guide, we will provide you with the complete equipment for this type of activity. We will begin the descent by bicycle for approximately 2 and a half hours (45 km), until we reach the town of Huamanmarca. During the trip we will experience the beauty of the snow-capped mountains and the tropical forest —where our Peruvian Amazon begins—, crossing small streams, and we will enjoy the change from cold to tropical weather. During the trip there will be several stops to check bicycles and equipment. We will arrive at the town of Santa María (1,200 masl), where we will have our lunch. In the afternoon we have the option of rafting on the Vilcanota River (US$ 40 per person). This river offers category III and III+ rapids. For this activity we have helmets, windbreakers and a category V life jacket. This activity is only available between the months of April to December, and according to the Peruvian government it is mandatory to know how to swim.

Here we will spend the first night in a basic hostel, at the same time we will have dinner in said town. In this way, in this 2022 reactivation our company has decided to support the communities and families that inhabit these valleys and contribute to their economy.

Day 2:

SANTA MARIA - HATUMPAMPA - PISPITAYOC - COCALMAYO: WALK

We will get up very early and be ready to do the first day of trekking towards Santa Teresa. We will have a delicious breakfast prepared by Mrs. Maxi, and then board a bus heading to Hatumpampa for 20 minutes from where we will begin our hike. The first 2 hours of our tour will be uphill to Ñucchupata where we will have a short break to appreciate the valley and observe the mountains. After that place, the hike will be calmer because most of the journey will be flat for about 45 more minutes until we reach Pispitayoc where we will make a stop at the Pforo Cerceda family home hut, to learn more about the customs and activities of the families of this valley. On the way we will have several stops to learn a little more about the rich flora and fauna of the area where we will find ourselves. Further on we will find a small section of a traditional Inca trail. Here our guide will explain a little more about the history of the Incas and also the communication system they had in those times (the Inca route). At this point we will also have one of the most impressive views of the entire Valley and see the majestic Salkantay snow-capped mountain in the distance. Afterwards we will descend to the town of QUELLOMAYO, where we will enjoy a delicious lunch prepared by the Medina family. We will continue with the last 3 hours of walking to the Cocalmayo hot springs, where we will have plenty of time to enjoy this very special and pleasant place. Afterwards you will have the option of taking a bus to get to Santa Teresa where we will spend the second night in a basic hostel.

  • Maximum altitude: 2100 masl / 6233 feet.
  • Minimum altitude: 1430 masl / 4691 feet.

Day 3:

SANTA TERESA, LUCMABAMBA, LLACTAPATA, HYDROELECTRIC, MACHUPICCHU VILLAGE: WALK

We wake up early to start the hike to the fascinating archaeological site of Llactapata, where you will learn all about the site from your guide and get your first view of Machu Picchu. You will have plenty of time to walk around and capture great photographs. Afterwards, we will descend towards Hidroeléctrica for lunch and in the afternoon, we will continue walking towards Aguas Calientes or if you are very tired, you can choose to take a train at an additional cost (US$ 35.00). The hike takes around 3 hours along the railway and the Urubamba River through the jungle. Along the way, you will stop at the Intihuatana and learn about its importance to the Incas. Once in Aguas Calientes, you can rest at your hotel or explore the small town before enjoying a tasty dinner at a local restaurant. Make sure to go to bed early to wake up before the sun comes up.

Day 4:

MACHU PICCHU AND RETURN TO CUSCO

This is the most important day of the tour to see one of the seven wonders of the world. The tour will start early, so you can appreciate the sunrise at the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu. Our day will begin by taking the bus to the Inca Citadel. Once inside the archaeological park, the guide will provide you with a tour of the Inca city of Machu Picchu and its most important temples, such as the Temple of the Sun, the Temple of the Three Windows, etc. Afterwards you will be free to climb Huayna Picchu if you booked in advance. $60 dollars (2,800 masl) or Machu Picchu mountain (3,082 masl) US$60 dollars. For both mountains you have to make this reservation at least two months in advance because there are only 200 tickets per day. We also recommend taking advantage of this place to relax, meditate and rest, taking advantage of the magical and spiritual energies of this great wonder. Later you will return to Aguas Calientes to take the train back to Ollantaytambo or Cusco.

Check on the Internet www.westernunion.com which is the agent closest to your home, then go to the nearest Western Union office, ask for the teller who can send money to other countries, the teller will give you a money transfer form.

Once the deposit is made, they will give you the receipt that includes your MTCN: Money Transfer Control Number.

2.- PAYMENT WITH CREDIT OR DEBIT CARD

  TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  1. Deposit sent to the reservation is not refundable or transferable to any other date, person or tour.
  2. TRAVEL FAST CUSCO must be notified of any changes or cancellations of your trip at least 48 hours in advance, via email or phone so that you do not incur any charges not covered by the deposit.
  3. Once the final balance has been paid, we will not be able to return your payment in the case of cancellations. But nevertheless, you are able to use (Machu Picchu Ticket, 1 Train Ticket, 1 Bus Ticket.
  4. The final balance must be paid at least 48 hours before the departure of the trip (please advise if you have any delays on arrival). You must pay your balance in cash and in dollars or soles.
  5. In the case of a protest/strike, which is not uncommon in Cusco, it may be necessary to leave a day or even 2 days earlier than scheduled so we are able to fulfill other services. In this case, you will be charged an increase to cover the costs incurred.
  6. Risks: By booking any of our adventure trips (Inca Trail to Machu Picchu, Salkantay, Ausangate, Choquequirao, Lares, Vilcabamba trek, etc) you assume the risks associated with them. For these TRAVEL FAST CUSCO is not responsible and we recommend traveling with travel medical insurance that covers accidents and lost luggage.
  7. About the Briefing: The The night before the trek there will be a pre-trek briefing at your accommodation at a previously arranged time (exact time will be confirmed upon arrival or by email).
